Ciudad Obregón, Mexico

First we had a LONG travel day ahead of us. Luckily my bus date was the lovely Miss Sarah Rini so I was in good hands!:) Unfortunately we decided to sit right in front of the rest room on the bus which did that we could not lean or seats back and it smelled like urine and shit where we were sitting:( not the best seats in the house!
We had two travel days which meant a over night sleep at a Hotel in Mazatlán and believe me - WE ALL NEEDED THAT BADLY!!
Travel day no. 2 went fine but we got stopped a lot by the military so they could check our passports and some of our bags. This way they made sure that we were not bringing any drugs in to green cities of Mexico. Because of these stops we were late for host pick up and by the time we arrived some of our families had been waiting for three hours.. I felt so bad for them!!

Yes - people get a bit weird after being trapped on a bus for 16 hours!! :D But it was very entertaining!

I had no roommate that week and I was so worried and thought the worst possible situations I could get into. But then I met my host family and all my worries vanished!! I had three host sister that week, Mariana 18 years old and the twins Andrea and Carolina 17 years old and of course Mom and Dad!:) They were the so nice and made me feel so much at home especially the girls made me feel right at home! I had so much fun with them and I loved being 4 girls in the house together. They had so much energy and loved talking about their lives, friends and some of their cray stories:) We had breakfast together every morning and I had missed that so much because back home I never eat breakfast alone so that was really nice to do again. Andrea and Carolina are as twins as Nicole and I am - they interrupt each other when one of them are trying to explain something, they both don't eat the pizza crisp and they run to the car to sit in the front :D reminded me so much of my relationship with Nicole!! LOVED IT!

We did a parade that week. Walked for an hour and a half with our flags, international costumes and ofc. our lovely smiles:) It was fun and we made it into a good work out plus good promotion for our show we were having later that week!
Our show that week went really well and we had about 5000 people in the audience so that was amazing! I sometimes forget that I'm apart of a international show with extremely talented people from all over the world, live band, lights and sound:) It's such an amazing experience and I will never perform on a stage like this with 5000 people looking at me dancing!

Our pretty flags!

The most important flag!!

Our show that week!

We were honored enough to have dinner with the Mayor and his wife which meant that we all had to look pretty:) We had steak and salad and tortillas for dinner and OMG it was so good. I had not had steak for so long so my mouth was drooling when I saw it:) yummy!!!

UWP Cast B 2012 and the Mayor and his wife

After the dinner Mariana and her two friends Ileana and Eva took me out for a beer and instead of dancing all night long we went and had their famous hotdogs and they were SO GOOD!! It was so nice to have a girls night out and just sit and talk and enjoy each others company:) I miss that so much with the girls back home<3
Next day was host family day and I did the usually; slept in, did my laundry, spent time with the family and then Mariana, Ileana, Eva and me went to see Breaking Dawn Part II and I was so excited because it had been so long since I had been in the movies:)! The movie was really good and I'm so happy that I saw it with them, even though Nicole hated me for it! When I came home Andrea, Carolina and mom took me out to dinner and after that we went for a walk at the laguna/park. It was so nice to have a good conversation over a nice slow walk! I'm really going to miss this family and I hope one day I can come back and visit them and that they can visit me in Denmark! I'm still surprised of what our host families do for us and how much they let us become a part of their families for one week!! It still amazes me..

me and Mariana:)

Carolina, me, Mariana, mom and Andrea! <3 my lovely host family!!!

Before we left for our next city Hermosillo us girls had put together a little show for the boys - we call it boys appreciation because they have done a marvelous job in keeping up with all of us girls so we thought that they needed to be appreciated! Some of the girls did impressions of the boys and told them why they appreciated them!! enjoy the pictures:) it was hilarious!!!

Toluca, Mexico

Before arriving to Toluca we went and saw the pyramids and climbed them!! :) I was so excited and happy to be there! Not everyone can say that they have been on a pyramid in Mexico!! LOVE UWP..

Sis and me!!

Nicole, Me, Betinna and Nicole D!:)

A whole week with Nicole and Elena! I could not be happier:) I just new that this week would be awesome.. The only problem was that I hoped to soon.. Both Nicole and I were sick the entire week:( Luckily Elena's father is a doctor so he checked up on us three times that week and we can't thank him enough for that!
I did join the cast one day on a show day and I felt great that day. The show was awesome and the audience was the best so far. I loved when they sang along in the Mexican Medley and 90's medley:) it's such a great feeling!! On our way back from the show facility the bus I was on decided to break down so we had to jump over the other bus and sit on the ice cold floor and YES that made me sick again and then I was sick for the rest of the week - even on host family day..
I felt so bad because I really wanted to spend time with Elena and her family and they were so nice to Nicole and I and I hated that I could not return the favor!

Our hospital for the week!!:)

Even though we were sick all week and really enjoyed my time in Toluca and in this house! I felt so much at home, mostly because I was with Nicole!<3 I don't know what I would have done without her that week - she made me feel less home sick because all I wanted when I was sick was my mom and her love!!! Thank God for twin sisters<3!!

So not my most exciting week but know we are traveling 36 hours to Ciudad Obregón and I feel a bit better so that's a good sign!:) Can't wait to be back to sea level!! I hate altitude..

Love,
Sarah

Mexico City, Mexico

We arrived in Mexico City after a long long travel day! I had never been so tired before. When we came to the hostel where we were staying and waiting for group no. 3 we had the chance to sleep and take a shower and trust me – that was exactly what we did. I felt like I had been hit by a truck so I took some emergencies and went to bed J I had never slept so good in my entire life.. It was so nice to relax and actually lay down and not sit up sleeping. When group 3 arrived we all had lunh together and then I took a shower so I wouldn’t look like a dead person when I had to meet my new host family!

The Hostel!:)

My roommate that week was Mie from Japan and I was so excited to be roommed with her because she is the cutest thing ever. Our hostcode was: Tequila so our 9 year old host sister was dressed as a tequila bottle when they came and picked us up!:) This week I have 3 host sisters (9, 6 and 4) they were the cutest girls ever and even though we were not able to communicate we still connected and had a great time together!!

Cali, Celeste and Maya!:)

The first 2 days of Mexico City I stayed home sick and relaxed and trust me: MY BODY AND MIND NEEDED THAT!! I finally felt restedJ What I love about sick days is that I can skype as long as I want to! It’s amazing and I love seeing my family and friends..
So when I came back to the cast I felt like I was home again – It’s super weird not to see them every day when I have been use to that for 5 months! I love this cast and I can’t believe it’s almost over! Ken and Michael from the office was there and made us ready for our first show in Mexico! So we practiced a lot that week before our show and we became amazing at singing spanish J ha! Not as easy as it sounds!!

Our show that week was in "El Zócalo", the thirs largest square in the entire world! So that was pretty cool to experience. It’s outside and the buildings around it lit up at the night so it was super cool to stand on the stage and look out at the square, the huge flag and off course our amazing audience!:) I sometime forget that I’m travelling around the world beacuse when I’M with the cast I feel at home and safe so I dont really realize that I’m in Mexico or was in Taiwan and The Philippines.. It’s truly a wonderful experience!

For host family we went on a long trip – they told us that it was a 2-3 hour car ride but it became much longer, especially because the youngest got car sick and threw up all over the back seat so we had to stop and clean upJ And after dinner when we left for the cemetery we drove around for 1 hour because we could not find it, so we went home. And our host dad missed our exit so we were home at midnight! They wanted us to have a great day and we did but it also failed a little, but they tried and that’s what matters.
My host family were so sweet and took good care of me while I was sick. It was a good first host family in Mexico and I can’t wait for next week because then I will be hosted with Elena and my sis in Toluca!! WOOP WOOP!!!:)

Love,
Sarah
